Youth volunteers offer free services worth 17bn Birr to the public: MoWSA

Addis Ababa, October 27, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs (MoWSA) stated that youth volunteers offered free services worth 17 billion to the public during the last summer season.

Closing ceremony of the last summer volunteer program was held under the theme “Volunteerism for the Rise of Ethiopia” in attendance of high level government officials.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Muna Ahmed, State Minister for the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, disclosed that 21 million 560 thousand youths have participated in the summer volunteer program during the last Ethiopian summer season.

According to the State Minister, the volunteer youths provided the public with free services in various sectors including Green Legacy Initiative, blood donation, remedial education and renovation of houses of the elderly, amounting to 17 billion birr.
