World Press Freedom Day celebrated in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, May 4, 2021 (FBC) – The World Press Freedom Day 2021 is being celebrated with various events in Addis Ababa under the theme “Information as a Public Good”.

Representatives of various media houses, journalists and stakeholders are taking part in the celebration.

On the occasion, Chairperson of the Ethiopian Media Council, Tigist Yilma stressed need to facilitation of conducive playground for journalist to help them entertain freedom of press and address the community with accurate information.

The Chairperson further called upon journalist to play their share in tackling hate speech trending on social media.
