World Bank reiterates continued support to Ethiopia TVET sector

Addis Ababa, July 27, 2021 (FBC) – The World Bank has reiterated continued support to the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

An Ethiopian delegate led by the Science and Higher Education Minister, Dr. Samuel Urkato has met with World Bank (WB) Director for Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and South Sudan, Ousmane Dione.

During the Meeting the Science and Higher Education Minister briefed participants on the construction progress of the East Africa TVET Center of Excellence which is being built in Addis Ababa.

He also expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its support to the TVET sector in Ethiopia through the framework of East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration (EASTRIP).

The Regional Director, Ousmane Dione, for his part, appreciated the progress of TVET and related projects underway in the country with budgetary support of the World Bank reiterated continued assistance for fruition of the initiatives.
