WFP trucks carrying humanitarian supply forced to return halfway to Mekelle due to TPLF fresh attacks

Addis Ababa, January 25, 2022 (FBC) – WFP trucks carrying humanitarian supplies have been forced to return halfway to Mekelle because of fresh attack and shelling by TPLF in Afar Region.

“Tens of thousands displaced. It’s evident that TPLF leaders are starving people in pursuit of a perilous political game,” the Office of Permanent Mission of Ethiopia to the UN stated.

The fresh attacks by the terrorist group have impeded the humanitarian operation in Tigray as a Mekelle bound trucks carrying humanitarian aid returned halfway to Mekelle due to the the war waged by the TPLF.
