Various African countries say ready to forge military cooperation with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, October 25, 2023 (FBC) – The military attachés of various African countries affirmed that they are ready to further develop their cooperation with Ethiopia as the country has a long history of military building.
Marking the occasion of the 116th National Army Day, a photography exhibition demonstrating the history of the Ethiopian national army, battles and its current formidable status is opened for the public at the Ethiopian National Theater.
Lt. Col. Agzew Altaye, representative head of the Directorate of Military Historical Heritage Research and Management at the Ministry of Defense, said that the photo exhibition highlights the gallant and brave history of the Ethiopian national army and the indomitable status it has reached now.
The main purpose of the photography exhibition is to commemorate the army’s historic heroism and the ultimate sacrifices it paid for Ethiopia’s sovereignty.
The military attachés of various African countries that attended the photography exhibition said that the exhibition helped them understand the history of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) in depth.
Brigadier General Ines Ashamu, Zimbabwe’s military attaché to Ethiopia and the African Union, said that the photography exhibition has increased their understanding of the history of the Ethiopian national army.
He pointed out that Ethiopia and Zimbabwe have shared historical relations in the military field, adding that the two countries are working to further strengthen this cooperation.
Colonel Aristide Angulet, the head of Gabon’s military attaché to Ethiopia, reckoned that the exhibition demonstrates the proud history of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces and the multifaceted development of the army.
The potential of ENDF is a benchmark for other African countries, he underscored, affirming that activities will be carried out to enhance the military cooperation between Gabon and Ethiopia.
