USAU, Addis Ababa University establish Pan-African Wing of Institute for Ethiopian Studies

Addis Ababa, February 8, 2022 (FBC) – US Mission to the African Union in partnership with the Addis Ababa University have established Pan-African Wing (PAW) of the Institute for Ethiopian Studies.

US Ambassador to the African Union, Jessica Lapenn Pan-African Wing (PAW) attended the establishment ceremony at Addis Ababa University’s Institute for Ethiopian Studies.

PAW is said vital to explore the history of Pan-Africanism and its impact on the development of the AU’s predecessor, the Organization for African Unity.

The center also highlights the contributions of Black Americans to the growth of Pan-African movements and the ways in which they advocated for increased connectivity between individuals of African descent worldwide.
