USAID launches a nationwide $9.5mln malaria elimination program in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 3, 2022 (FBC) – USAID Ethiopia Mission Director Sean Jones visited Adama City in Oromia Regional State last week with the State Minister for the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma and other high level federal and regional officials including the Finance State Minister.

On the occasion, USAID launched a nationwide 9.5 million USD malaria elimination program to end malaria in Ethiopia by 2030.

The delegation led by Sean Jones also met with Adama City Mayor Hailu Jelde and visited the Adama Milk and Yogurt Factory, which was founded with help from a USAID-backed loan and provides employment for over 200 people.
