USAID, Bamacon extend 26M Birr cash support, 100 Ventilators to Addis Ababa in response to pandemic
Addis Ababa, August 12, 2020 (FBC) – USAID-Save the Children has extended COVID 19 emergency cash assistance worth 26 Million Birr to 4,429 households in Addis Ababa in response to the pandemic.
The assistance that goes to 4,429 households though direct cash support to family heads will run for three months, the city administration disclosed.
Moreover, Mayor’s Office of Addis Ababa has received 100 Oxygen Ventilators amounting 10 Million Birr from Bamacon Engineering as support to the fight against coronavirus.
The ventilators are said to provide intensive care services to 200 COVID 19 patients a day, one to two individuals in severe conditions.
Ethiopian Industrial Inputs Development Enterprise also extended COVID 19 emergency supply to vulnerable segments of the society through the city Administration, Mayor’s office indicated.
