USAID, Bahir Dar University launch a $8.6mln project to train 750 DRM graduates
Addis Ababa, November 29, 2022 (FBC) – Bahir Dar University in partnership with USAID Ethiopia has launched a new 8.6 million USD project with the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission to train 750 Disaster Risk Management (DRM) graduates.
The program will train 750 ‘fresh graduates’ from 11 universities and 7 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in strategic, adaptive, and systematic Disaster Risk Management.
Another pillar of the project is gender equity, so that women will benefit from the training, internships, and job opportunities on offer, according to USAID Ethiopia.
The project focuses on professionalization of disaster risk management and response leadership, USAID said.
