Upper House Speaker Agegnehu Teshager hails UAE on behalf of Government, people of Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, March 7, 2022 (FBC) – The Speaker of the House of Federation of Ethiopia, Agegnehu Teshager held talks with Speaker of the Federal National Council of United Arab Emirates on issues of mutual concern on the margins of the 11th Conference of the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA).

Agegnehu said during the discussion that Ethiopia and UAE share similar culture and history and have longstanding cooperation in science and technology and tourism sectors, adding that the two countries have managed to transform their ties to a higher level in multifaceted areas of cooperation.

UAE is one of the countries who stood by Ethiopia when internal and outside forces were perpetrating against sovereignty of the nation.

The Speaker added that the Government and people of Ethiopia are very grateful to UAE for its remarkable support during times of need.

UAE House Speaker, Sakhar Hobashi, for his part, reiterated commitment of his country to unity and territorial integrity of Ethiopia. The two vowed parliament level cooperation between the two countries.
