UNIDO, Ethiopia discuss de-risking investments in coffee value chain

Addis Ababa, March 8, 2023 (FBC) – United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Ethiopia Representatives Aurelia Calabro met with Dr. Girma Amante Minister of Agriculture to discuss the new initiative aiming at de-risking investments in the coffee value chain.

The initiative is funded by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority.

The initiative is guided by an innovative of blended financing in support of the scaling up the Ethiopian coffee sector promoting the best performers, UNIDO said.

One criteria to access to the project would be Corporate Social Responsibility and how local communities will be assisted in improving their livelihoods, it is stated during the discussion.
