UNICEF vows continued support for dev’t plans of Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, May 9, 2023 (FBC) -The United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has affirmed its continued support for Ethiopia’s developmental plans by identifying areas of focus.
The Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa, met and discussed with the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) representative of Ethiopia, Aboubacar Kampo.
During the discussion Fitsum expressed gratitude to UNICEF for its developmental works in Ethiopia.
The Minister also briefed UNICEF’s representative about Ethiopia’s developmental plans being implemented by the Government.
She also mentioned issues of mutual cooperation between UNICEF and Ethiopia and called on to strengthen existing collaboration.
Aboubacar Kampo on his part said that UNICEF is committed to provide supports for Ethiopian Government in its developmental plans.
He emphasized the importance of gathering evidence-based data to assess the needs of children and their families and expressed UNICEF’s full support.
He underscored that the organization is committed to provide support to Ethiopia according to the plans and need of the nation.
Aboubacar also announced that the organization is interested in carrying out works that are aligned with the plans and needs.
The Ministry of Planning and Development has indicated that both sides have agreed to strengthen the works on children, mothers, poverty reduction, health and social sectors.
