UNICEF vows continued cooperation with Ethiopian National Rehabilitation Commission
Addis Ababa, May 31, 2024 (FBC) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that it will continue to cooperate with the National Rehabilitation Commission of Ethiopia.
Commissioner for NRC, Temesgen Tilahun discussed with Sheema Sen Gupta, Director of UNICEF’s Child Protection on how to enhance cooperation.
During the discussion, Commissioner Temesgen briefed Sheema Sen Gupta on the implementation of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Rehabilitation program for ex-combatants, the challenges and plans for future activities.
He also thanked UNICEF for its support in implementing the program, calling for more cooperation and support so that future projects of the program will be achived.
Sheema Sen Gupta, for her part, commended the commission for prioritizing its program to assist victims with special needs and young female and male ex-combatants.
She further affirmed that UNICEF is ready to enhance its cooperation with the Commission focusing on sustainable rehabilitation of victims and ex-combatants.
