UNICEF reiterates support for Ethiopia’s stability, recovery efforts

Addis Ababa, February 29, 2024 (FBC) – The Finance Minister Mr. Ahmed Shide conducted a discussion with UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director for Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations, Mr. Edward Chaiban.

The meeting focused on Ethiopia’s current development and humanitarian issues and on ongoing efforts to address urgent challenges in the country.

The two sides agreed on the need for international partners’ timely and scaled-up response to climate-related shocks, drought, and related humanitarian needs.

Mr. Chaiban reiterated UNICEF’s commitment to help create momentum for international support behind Ethiopia’s efforts to stability, and recovery and addressing humanitarian and development needs comprehensively, as per the Ministry of Finance.
