UNHCR Commissioner praises Ethiopia for its hospitality of refugees

Addis Ababa, September 19, 2023 (FBC) – High Commissioner of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, praised Ethiopia for its policy on refugees.

Filippo Grandi, who met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen in New York, praised Ethiopia for receiving and hosting the Sudanese refugees in a very humane manner.

He also appealed for donors to scale up their support to refugees in Ethiopia.

DPM & FM Demeke, who is attending the UN General Assembly in New York, made successful discussion with a host of delegations from various countries on regional issues of mutual interest.
