UNECA reaffirms commitment in supporting Ethiopia’s dev’t endeavors
Addis Ababa, May 16, 2023 (FBC) – Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Ambassador Ayele Lire, presented his credential letters today to Antonio Pedro, Acting Executive Secretary of the UNECA.
The two officials exchanged views on ways of boosting cooperation between Ethiopia and UNECA. The two sides further agreed to scale up collaboration for the successful implementation of various projects and programs in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Ayele expressed his commitment to upgrade cooperation between Ethiopia and UNECA to a new level during his tenure.
Mr. Antonio Pedro, on his part, commended Ethiopia’s unreserved support to the Commission in discharging its responsibilities.
Mr. Pedro reaffirmed the commitment of the Commission in supporting Ethiopia’s development endeavors, according to MFA Ethiopia.
It is known that the UNECA extends technical assistance to African countries to achieve Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ethiopia is the Host of the UNECA since its inception in 1958 and one of the 14 Countries in the East African Sub-region benefiting from technical support of the Commission.
