UNCTAD expresses desire to work together with Ethiopia in trade, industry
Addis Ababa, December 14, 2022 (FBC) – The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) expressed its interest in working together with the Ethiopian government in trade, entrepreneurship and industry.
The Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Aseffa, held a discussion with the Director of UNCTAD’s Division for Africa and Least Developed Countries, Paul Akiwumi.
During their discussion, UNCTAD’s activities being carried out in various African countries such as Angola, Burkina Faso, and Niger in business and entrepreneurship were discussed.
Director of UNCTAD’s Division for Africa, Paul Akiwumi, explained to the Minister the policy studies conducted by the Office and the plans to work in Ethiopia in business, entrepreneurship, and industry sectors.
On her part, Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Aseffa, explained the work undertaken by the Ethiopian government to conform the policies of the Ministry of Planning and Development and resolving marginal differences.
She stated that the policy is in line with the direction of development the country is going at the moment.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Development, both sides have reached an agreement to continue working together and stamp their legacy on Ethiopia’s development endeavors.
