UN OPSP lauds Ethiopian Peacekeepers in S. Sudan for outstanding accomplishments
Addis Ababa, May 21, 2022 (FBC) – United Nations Office for the Peacekeeping Strategic Partnership (OPSP) lauded the 15th Motorized Battalion of the Ethiopian Peacekeeping Mission in Equatoria Region of South Sudan for outstanding achievements in its peacekeeping mission.
Director of the Office for the Peacekeeping Strategic Partnership, Major General Jai Shanker Menon, while visiting the region, met with Commander of the Ethiopian Battalion Major Kefyalew Regassa and other members of the contingent.
On the occasion, Major General Jai Shanker Menon stated that the Ethiopian Peacekeeping force is registering success amid various challenges in the peacekeeping operation in the region.
The Battalion has been discharging its responsibilities although there are various bottlenecks in the area related to lack of infrastructure, hostile landscape and related issues.
