UAE, Ethiopia reaffirm commitment to working together to achieve shared goals
Addis Ababa, November 28, 2023 (FBC) – Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Region Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gebeyehu Ganga, echoed the sentiment, expressing the Ethiopian government’s and people’s admiration for the UAE’s remarkable achievements.
The director general reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening Ethiopian-Emirati relations.
“I stand before you with deep admiration and appreciation for the UAE’s remarkable achievements and the strong bond between our nations.”
The diplomatic relations between the countries date back to 1973, Gebeyehu recalled, adding that ever since then, the political, economic, and people-to-people ties have been getting stronger.
The upcoming eighth edition of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28), to be hosted by the UAE, was acknowledged as a significant step towards addressing climate change.
Ethiopia will fully participate in the conference and will work with the UAE on the issues of climate change in the global arena, Gebeyehu stated.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together to achieve their shared goals.
The celebration of the UAE’s 52nd National Day in Addis Ababa served as a reminder of the enduring friendship and mutual respect between Ethiopia and the UAE.
