Two Ethiopians named best African athletes

Addis Ababa, January 22, 2020 (FBC)-The President of the African Athletics Confederation (AAC) announced yesterday the award winners for 2019.

Hamad Kalkaba Malboum made the announcement during a visit in Lomé before the African cross-country championships.

Accordingly, the best African young female athlete award goes to Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegaye (1500m: 3:54.38)

Another Ethiopian Lamecha Girma won the best African young male athlete awards (3000m steeple: 8:01:36 NR)

Hussen Shibo, a chief distance coach for the Ethiopian national team, won the best coach award of 2019.
