Turkey reaffirms support to Ethiopia’s commitment to solve GERD issue through African Solution

Addis Ababa, September 16, 2021 (FBC) – Consul General of Ethiopia to the Bahrain, Ambassador Jemal Beker conferred with Turkish Ambassador Asin Akil on bilateral issues of mutual concern.

Appreciating the longstanding bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Turkey, Ambassador Jemal stressed need to cement ties between the two brotherly nations in economic, regional and people to people partnership for sustainable mutual benefit.

Ambassador Jemal briefed the Turkish side on latest developments in Ethiopia regarding GERD and other pressing issues.

Turkey’s Ambassador, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian side for the briefing and reiterated commitment of his country to deepen the existing ties with Ethiopia in peace, politics, economic and people to people relationship.

Turkey supports Ethiopia’s commitment to solve GERD through the mechanism in line with African Solution to African Problems. His said his country is ready to share its profound experience in hydropower development.
