TPLF violating international law in ‘one soldier per family’ policy, child soldier conscription
Addis Ababa, September 03, 2022 (FBC) – Terrorist TPLF has violated international laws and showed utter disregard for human life, said Ethiopian global organizations consortium in a statement, condemning the forceful recruitment and use of child soldiers by TPLF who has dragged them as human wave to invade the neighboring Amhara and Afar regions.
The global consortium denounced TPLF’s other grave crime, the “one soldier per family” policy in exchange for food aid to commit a reckless violence insurgency and its continued actions to destabilize Ethiopia, reminding that the terrorist group is once again actively engaged in serious human rights violations, attacking civilians in Amhara and Afar regions.
The consortium underlined that the Ethiopian Government had declared a unilateral humanitarian ceasefire and the humanitarian truce, which paved the way for the provision of unrestricted access for humanitarian operators, including more fuel and cash to the Tigray region, but TPLF broke the truce and launched another attack on Ethiopian National Defense Force to reignite the war.
It also mentioned that the TPLF continued to militarize humanitarian supplies that were intended to support civilians, while failing to recognize and reciprocate the Ethiopian Government’s peace measures, further recalling that the terrorist group looted 570,000 liters of fuel from the UN World Food Program (WFP) warehouses intended for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people in Tigray region before starting its military attacks in the neighboring regions of Afar and Amhara, targeting innocent civilians.
