TPLF destroys 1.5 million ha of farmlands in Amhara and Afar regions

Addis Ababa, December 16, 2021 (FBC) – The Agriculture Ministry announced that the terrorist TPLF has destroyed crops that covered over 1.5 Million hectares of farmlands in Amhara and Afar Regions.

It was planned to cultivate 13 million ha of land and harvest 375 million quintals of crops during the 2021 Meher season, the Ministry stated, adding that the terrorist TPLF fighters have fully destroyed both immature and matured crops on farmlands that covered over 1.5 ha in the two regions.

The terrorist group deliberately drove artillery and heavy trucks over farmlands and caused complete destruction to the crops on the lands, the Agriculture State Minister Meles Mekonnen (PhD) indicated.

Moreover, the soldiers of the renegade group have looted and vandalized agricultural equipment, supplies and cattle aimed at impoverishing farmers in the two regions, according the State Minister.
