TPLF continues to handover group intermediate weapons to ENDF
Addis Ababa, May 26, 2023 (FBC) – In conformance with the Pretoria Peace Agreement, the Ethiopian National Defense Forces received group weapons from the TPLF militants.
It is learned that the African Union’s Monitoring, Verification and Compliance Mission (AU-MVCM) representatives were present during the handover in Lachi area, near Mekele city.
According to Brigadier General Derbe Mekuria, representative of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, the handingover of team arms is part of the Pretoria peace agreement.
Speaking during the handover of weapons, Brigadier General Derbe stated that they have received Group Intermediate Weapons.
The representative of the TPLF militants, Brigadier General Megbey Haile, said that the handover of group arms was carried out in compliance with the peace agreement, adding that they are doing their part for the implementation of the peace agreement.
Brigadier General Tefo Sekole, a member of AU-MVCM Committee, who observed the handover, said that the handover is a testament that the peace agreement is being implemented well.
