TotalEnergies inaugurates EVs charging center in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, June 20, 2024 (FBC) – Amid the growing number of electric vehicles (EVss) in Ethiopia, TotalEnergies has officially inaugurated its electric vehicle fast charging center in Addis Ababa today.
Ms. Sahrela Abdullahi, Director General of the Ethiopia’s Petroleum and Energy Authority, Rémi Maréchaux, Ambassador of France to Ethiopia, Haile-Gebresellasie, CEO Mrathon Motors, and Christophe Ferrand, Director General of TotalEnergies Ethiopia attended the inauguration ceremony.
Ms. Sahrela said on the occasion that TotalEnergies fast electric vehicle charging center is instrumental to reduce the impact of air pollution.
On his part, French Ambassador to Ethiopia Rémi Maréchaux said that the opening of the center is a sign of France’s determination to support the reforms and development undertakings that Ethiopia has prioritized.
He also stated that France is committed to supporting Ethiopia’s efforts to reduce air pollution.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the inaugurated charging center in Addis Ababa is the first in Ethiopia.
