Total confirmed coronavirus cases in Ethiopia top 76,000

Addis Ababa, October 2, 2020 (FBC) – Total confirmed coronavirus cases in Ethiopia have reached 76,098 after the Ministry of Health reported 730 additional infections on Thursday.

Dr. Lia Tadesse, Minister of Health indicated that the new cases have been identified from 6,475 laboratory tests conducted within one day.

The death toll also stands at 1,205 including 7 fatalities registered yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Health, 226 more patients have recovered taking total number of recoveries in to 31,430.

There are currently 43,461 active cases in the country of which 255 are in severe condition.

The country has so far conducted 1,278,827 laboratory tests over the last months.
