Tigray Interim Administration to begin COVID 19 vaccination in several towns
Addis Ababa, May 14, 2021 (FBC) – Interim Administration of Tigray announced preparations to begin COVID 19 vaccination in several towns of the region.
Mekelle city has so far started giving the vaccination two months ago as part of the efforts to inoculation scheme.
The region has secured 108,000 doses of vaccine to be offered to people above 18 years of age, Dr. Arinet Adane, COVID 19 Protection Division head at the regional Health Bureau.
Shire Indaselasse, Axum, Adigrat, Frewoini and Maichew are among the towns where the vaccination rollout will begin soon, according the Head.
Ministry of Health is set to give more doses of vaccines to the region with a view to expand the vaccination rollout to other part of the region, according to Dr. Arinet.
