Three friends in Hawassa manufacture mechanical ventilator

Addis Ababa, May 9, 2020 (FBC) -Three friends in Hawassa city, SNNP regional state, have manufactured a mechanical ventilator.

The ventilator named ZAG is one of the latest innovations shared on the innovation.covid19.et portal.

It is designed by the three friends using locally available resources and in closely collaboration with medical experts from Hawassa referral hospital.

“Diverting energy and abilities to productive outcomes for the betterment of our society is highly admirable,” said office of the Prime Minister.

“By assessing community challenges and responding through innovations, citizens can play a positive role in national development goals,” it added.

The office encouraged others to ideate and create product, technology, service, social, environmental, process and other types of innovations, heeding the needs of communities.
