Third suspected killer of artist Hachalu arrested

Addis Ababa, July 11, 2020 (FBC) –The Federal Attorney General office has announced the arrest of Kebede Gemechu, the third suspect into the killing of artist Hachalu Hundessa.

Artist Hachalu was shot dead in Addis Ababa last week.

According to a statement issued by the office last night, he was arrested in Adea woreda (district) of Oromia regional state at a place called Dire.

In a press conference yesterday, Attorney General Adanech Abiebie announced the arrest of two suspects identified as Tilahun Yami and Abdi Alemayehu.

According to Adanech, the first suspect, Tilahun Yami, admitted that he shot and killed the artist after receiving a mission from the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) -Shene group.
