The Netherlands commends Ethiopia’s efforts to bring peace, stability to the region

Addis Ababa, January 21, 2025 (FMC) – The Netherlands has commended Ethiopia’s efforts to bring peace and stability to the Horn of Africa region, according to the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry.

This story was disclosed by the Ministry after a meeting between State Minister at MFA Ethiopia, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, and Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stijn Janssen, in Addis Ababa today.

The parties, among others, discussed enhancing bilateral ties and their vital role in the maintenance of peace and security of the Horn of Africa, it was indicated.

During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu called on Dutch investors to take advantage of the recent macro-economic reforms and various investment opportunities in the country.

He stated that Ethiopia is committed to creating a strong partnership with the Netherlands in development cooperation, climate change and economic development.

Special Envoy Janssen, on her part, commended Ethiopia’s efforts to bring peace and stability to the region and assured the support of the Netherlands in this regard. She also stressed the need for continuous cooperation to overcome common challenges and strengthen regional efforts.

This official visit highlights the growing relationship between Ethiopia and the Netherlands, which shows a mutual commitment to the peace, stability and development of the region.
