The first private nuclear medicine center inaugurated
Addis Ababa, March 23, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s first-ever private “Nuclear Medicine Center” has been officially unveiled, as confirmed by the Ministry of Health (MoH) today.
This establishment is said to be a collaborative effort between Pioneer Diagnostic Center and Redat Healthcare.
The center is anticipated to play a pivotal role in mitigating the high costs associated with such services and reducing reliance on foreign exchange.
During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Mekdes Daba, the Minister of Health, emphasized the indispensable role of the private sector in providing healthcare services, highlighting the newly opened Nuclear Medicine Center as a prime example.
She also disclosed that the government has finalized preparations for the construction of three additional nuclear medicine centers.
It is projected that the newly opened nuclear medicine center will facilitate the development of medical tourism, while significantly contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services in the country
