The East African Pastoralists Expo concludes
Addis Ababa, February 1, 2024 (FBC) – The East African Pastoralist Expo which has taken place in Addis Ababa from 26 January until today under the theme “Pastoralism Mosaic of East Africa” has concluded.
The Minister of Culture Kejela Merdassa, the Minister of Irrigation and Lowlands Aysha Mohammed and other high ranking government have attended the closing session.
More than 20,000 people including regional and federal officials have visited the expo that was organized in partnership between the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
Moreover, more than 200 stakeholders have participated in panel discussions that were focused on challenges the pastoralists of the region are facing and possible solutions and directives to address the problems.
Technological products with the purpose of advancing livelihoods of pastoralists have been displayed at the expo.
