The 84th Agew Equestrian Festival underway in Injibara town
Addis Ababa, February 1, 2024 (FBC) – The celebration of the 84th Agew Equestrian Festival is taking place in Injibara town, Amhara Region in attendance thousands of residents, officials and visitors.
The festival which is taking place under the theme “Patriotism for Brotherhood” marks the 84th anniversary of the establishment of the Agew Equestrian Association and participation of its members in the struggle against Italian fascist invaders.
Deputy Chief Administrator of the Amhara Regional State, Abdu Hussein, Culture and Tourism Bureau Head of the Region, Tahir Mohammed alongside other regional officials and artists are in attendance of the festival.
The festival is being celebrated with various cultural events including horse jousting, traditional dances, among others.
The Agew Equestrian Association which was established by not more than 30 fellow local men in 1939 currently has close to 60,000 members.
