The 6th China International Import Expo Promotion Conference held in Addis Ababa 

Addis Ababa, May 12, 2023 (FBC) – The 6th China International Import Expo Promotion Conference held in Addis Ababa in the presence of high level government officials, members of chambers of commerce and importers and exporters of the two countries.

The conference was hosted by China International Import Expo Bureau and Embassy of China in Addis Ababa.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Ambassador of  China to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, stated that Ethiopia and China have been enjoying diplomatic relations for more than 50 years.

The bilateral cooperation between China and Ethiopia is based on mutual trust and true friendship, the Ambassador said, adding that the trade, investment and economic partnership between the two nations is gaining momentum over the past three decades.

Saying that Ethiopia and China are strategic partners in multifaceted areas of cooperation, the Ambassador reiterated the commitment of his country to enable Ethiopian products to enter the Chinese market with increased volume.

According to the Ambassador, in 2022, the bilateral trade between China and Ethiopia reached more than 2.7 billion USD.

Representing the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Dagnachew Atinkut said that the trade and investment ties between China and Ethiopia has been growing fast since the past three decades.
