Sweden supports IGAD’s regional COVID-19 response

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2020 (FBC) – In response to IGAD request for COVID -19 emergency funding, Sweden has immediately decided to reallocate $300,000 from its on-going support.

The fund will be used for strengthening the coordination and monitoring mechanism of seven IGAD member states in the Horn of Africa.

It will also be used for strengthening the regional taskforce at IGAD secretariat level and development of sensitization, communication material and activities at the IGAD level to help spread awareness.
