State Minister reiterates Ethiopia’s commitment to elevate multifaceted ties with EU, member states

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2023 (FBC) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, conferred with EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Dr. Annette Weber today. Amb.

State Minister Mesganu thanked Dr. Weber for her contributions for Ethiopia’s peace process.

Highlighting the recently held ceremony in Addis Ababa in celebration of peace, Mesganu reiterated the Ethiopian government’s commitment to further consolidate the hard-earned peace in the country through an All-inclusive National Dialogue & Transitional Justice mechanism.

The support of partners such as the EU has been instrumental in this regard, the State Minister noted.

He further reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to elevate multifaceted ties with the EU and member states to advance the agenda of development and strategic partnership.

For her part, the EU Special Representative, Annette Weber, expressed her gratitude to the People and Government of Ethiopia for awarding and honoring her on the aforementioned occasion for her efforts.

She said that she hopes the message of peace can be heard loud and clear by everybody, as it not only took a lot of courage but is also exemplary.

The representative also affirmed the EU’s readiness to further strengthen longstanding ties with Ethiopia.
