Space Science and Geospatial Institute says total lunar eclipse observed from Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, May 16, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute confirms that partial lunar eclipse has been observed in the early morning from Semera, Afar region.
Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute in partnership with Ethiopian Space Science Society and Semera University organized the sighting event at Semera town.
The total lunar eclipse has been observed even with naked eye from the Afar region since 5:00 AM, Ephrem Beshir, a researcher in the institute confirmed.
The lunar eclipse has seen from East African countries including Ethiopia, Djibouti, Egypt and Sudan, while countries in West Africa, specifically in Algeria and Morocco also observed the phenomenon.
