Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi, stated during a departure ceremony at the Embassy in Juba that Ethiopia is a key partner of South Sudan and sponsors the most undergraduate, graduate, and technical and vocational education and training scholarships.

“This postgraduate program is one of the best programs under going in Ethiopia. South Sudanese are receiving awards from Ethiopia,” Amb. Mahdi said.

For his part, Dr. John Rumunu, South Sudan’s Minister of Health’s Director General, conveyed the government’s appreciation to the Ethiopian government for their kind offer of scholarships to South Sudanese doctors.

“We are expecting you to exhibit hard work and also be good. You should show a South Sudanese good character so that the people of Ethiopia also will know that our brothers in South Sudan are of this good character,” said Rumunu.

Dr. Joseph Dut, team leader admitted at the University of Addis Ababa, expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian government for providing them with a scholarship so they could continue their education at esteemed Ethiopian universities.

“So we are very happy that Ethiopia is doing great for us. And we commend that they have to continue the same program,” said Dut.
