South Sudan Internal Security Affairs delegation visits INSA
Addis Ababa, February 17, 2021 (FBC) – A South Sudanese delegation led by the Director-General of Internal Security Affairs of South Sudan, General Akol Kur, visited and discussed with officials of the Information Network Security Agency (INSA).
The talks focused on information and cybersecurity issues. South Sudan’s Director General of Internal Security, Akol Kur, said Ethiopia’s role in South Sudan’s independence was significant.
He said Ethiopia will continue to play a key role in building a strong cybersecurity institution in South Sudan.
Dr. Shumete Gizaw, Director General of INSA, for his part, said there are three main issues in strengthening South Sudan’s information and cybersecurity.
He said they discussed issues related to human resource capacity building, technology development, and appropriate system deployment.
It was mentioned during the meeting that countries need to work together to ensure national and regional information and cybersecurity.
