South Sudanese diplomats attending training in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, June 4, 2024 (FBC) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia disclosed that a two-day training program began today at the Skylight Hotel for diplomats of South Sudan.
Organized by the Institute for Foreign Affairs (IFA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the training aims to enhance diplomatic skills and address regional challenges.
Mr. Jafar Bedru, Executive Director of IFA, underscored the role of diplomacy in addressing common problems, understanding geopolitical complexities, and seeking common solutions.
Ambassador Fisseha Shawel, Director General of African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, emphasized during the opening ceremony that the training equips diplomats with essential tools for navigating complex challenges.
Ambassador Natalina Edward Mou, Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan, Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan Ambassador Nebil Mahdi, veteran Ethiopian diplomats, and South Sudanese diplomats graced the opening ceremony.
The two-day training for the South Sudanese diplomats is expected to foster an environment conducive to discussing a wide range of topics, including negotiation strategies, and peacebuilding. It aims to reinforce the strong diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and South Sudan and highlights collaborative efforts to promote regional peace and security.
