South Sudan appreciates positive steps taken by Ethiopia towards peace
Addis Ababa January 26, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the U.S., Seleshi Bekele held talks in his office with his South Sudanese counterpart Ambassador Philip Jada Natana.
According to Ethiopian Embassy in the US, Ambassador Seleshi briefed the Ambassador on the current situation in Ethiopia, particularly focusing on the signed peace agreement and its implementation status and also on the trajectory development of Ethiopia including the GERD project.
Ambassador Seleshi also expressed Ethiopia’s keen commitment to bolster its cooperation with the Republic of South Sudan in bilateral, regional, and international endeavors that are pertinent to both countries.
Ambassador Philip on his part expressed his country’s appreciation of the positive steps being taken by the government of Ethiopia regarding the peace agreement and its quick implementation which, he said, contributes to the peace and security of the entire region. He also elaborated the current developments in South Sudan.
The two Ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to work closely on bilateral, regional, continental, and global issues under the auspicious IGAD and Africa Union platforms.
