Some aid organizations focus on ulterior motive in lieu of humanitarian assistance
Addis Ababa, November 17, 2021 (FBC) – In a press briefing held on Wednesday, the State Minister of Government Communications Service, Debede Desisa underlined that some aid organizations operating in Ethiopia are focused on their hidden political agenda rather than humanitarian assistance works they are entrusted with.
He rejected the accusation from some international organizations that are complaining without a proof that the government caused blockade to northern parts of the country.
Kebede said such organizations are not willing to denounce atrocities being committed by the terrorist TPLF against innocent people in Amhara and Afar Regions; rather they are echoing false allegations from perpetrators.
He reiterated commitment of the government to work hand in hand with eligible aid organizations in enhancing delivery of emergency humanitarian assistance to people in need in several parts of the country.
Some international media are engaged in false propaganda and disinformation aimed at tarnishing image of the government of Ethiopia and backing foreign pressures against the country.
Hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians took to streets of Addis Ababa and staged a huge rally at Meskel Square to denounce such a foreign meddling and media campaign against the sovereignty of the country, he added.
