Somali Region Chief Administrator discusses with UNOPS officials on drought situation in the region
Addis Ababa, February 1, 2022 (FBC) – Somali Region Chief Administrator, Mustafa Omer discussed with United Nations Office for Project Service (UNOPS) officials on drought situation in the region.
The Chief Administrator received the UN delegation led by the Director General of the UNOPS, Workenesh Mekonnen at his office. Mustafa briefed the delegation on measures taken to prevent further humanitarian crisis triggered by the drought.
Appreciating government’s response to the humanitarian need and related measures taken to contain the situation, the UNOPS Director reaffirmed the commitment of the UN to support the ongoing efforts to avert the condition.
