Somali region affirms readiness to provide support for conflict-affected areas, citizens

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2022 (FBC) – The Somali region has pledged that it will provide the necessary support to help the people and institutions affected by the conflict in the northern part of the country.

Bashir Sheikh Saeed, Deputy Head of the Regional Government’s Communications Affairs Service, stated that the region will play its part in the implementation of the peace accord recently reached in South Africa between the Ethiopian government and TPLF.

He pointed out that the peace agreement reached is an indication that Africans can solve problems on their own.

ENA reported that a public conference on Tuesday to ensure the residents of the region to have better insight of the benefits and importance of the peace agreement and contribute to its implementation.

Bashir pointed out that government employees, culture leaders, religious leaders, women and youths and other residents will participate in the conference .
