Social Media trolls pose challenges to Ethiopia: Media Council

Addis Ababa, May 9, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Media Council stated that the social media trolls have continued to pose challenges to Ethiopia in various aspects.

The council is celebrating the World Press Freedom Day under the theme “Journalism Under Digital Siege”.

On the occasion, Chairman of the Council, Amare Aregawi called on people working on social media to promote peace, love and unity based on vested journalism ethics.

He added that social media trolls who are deliberately provoking violence are threatening the wellbeing of the nation, calling all stakeholders to discharge their responsibilities in tackling such a challenge.
