SNNP working to bring to justice those responsible for Konso, Ale border conflict

Addis Ababa, July 30, 2020 (FBC) – The SNNP regional state said works are underway to bring to justice those responsible for Konso and Ale border conflict.

According to Ristu Yirda, deputy chief administrator of the regional state, 21 people were killed in the conflict which occurred recently.

Investigation into the incident is underway and those responsible for the conflict will face justice, he said in a press conference issued yesterday.

According to the regional state’s communications affairs bureau, seven individuals suspected of having links with the conflict have so far been arrested.

Calm has returned to the area and activities are underway to provide humanitarian assistance to the community affected by the conflict, it added.
