Sierra Leone President Julius Maada to visit Ethiopia soon
Addis Ababa, August 30, 2022 (FBC) – Hadera Abera Admassu, Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Sierra Leone, presented his credentials to President Julius Maada Bio recently.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Hadera pledged that he would work to deepen the more than half-century old diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Sierra Leone in the areas of trade, investment, and labor cooperation.
He further briefed the President about the current security situation in Ethiopia, the progress of GERD, and the status of the negotiations with the downstream countries, as well as other regional and international dynamics of interest to his country. He also discussed the long awaited and highly anticipated visit of President Maada Bio to Ethiopia.
President Julius Maada Bio, for his part, congratulated Ambassador Hadera on his appointment and underlined the need to enhance the long history of bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries. He assured the ambassador of the full support of his government for the successful accomplishment of his mission.
The president further commended the unwavering commitment of the Ethiopian government to solving the conflict in Ethiopia peacefully. He expressed his firm conviction that the negotiations taking place between Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan on the GERD under the auspices of the AU would be concluded to the satisfaction of all parties.
The President also renewed his commitment to visit Ethiopia in a very short period of time and finally assured the ambassador that he would lend his country’s full political and diplomatic support to him.
