Siemens keen to tap renewable energy investment potential in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, March 26, 2024 (FBC) – Siemens Energy, a prominent global energy technology corporation, has expressed its desire in investing in energy development opportunities in Ethiopia.
This inclination from the German company was revealed during a meeting involving the Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Itefa, the Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia, Stefan Auer, and the Vice President of Siemens Energy East Africa, François-Xavier Dubois.
In the course of the dialogue, which primarily centered on the potential investments in energy development, Habtamu Itefa underscored the importance of involving private sector entities in the development of renewable energy initiatives.
Highlighting the extensive energy investment prospects within Ethiopia, the Minister also outlined the ongoing projects aimed at harnessing energy from water, wind, solar, and geothermal sources.
In a corresponding statement, Ambassador Stefan Auer conveyed Siemens Energy’s keen interest in engaging in the renewable energy development endeavors within Ethiopia.
François-Xavier Dubois, Vice President of Siemens Energy East Africa, reminded that his company is one of the largest energy companies in the world. He also highlighted the projects that are being implemented in some East African countries.
