Shipment of procured fertilizer for current growing season concluded: Corporation
Addis Ababa, August 17, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses Corporation announced that the shipment of procured soil fertilizer for the “2015/16 Ethiopian Meher “ growing season has been completed.
It is stated that the last 500 thousand quintals of urea fertilizer that the corporation procured from abroad for the current crop growing season docked at the port of Djibouti today.
Accordingly, the shipment of 13 million 975 thousand 520 quintals of soil fertilizer procured from abroad for this growing season has been concluded, the Corporation said.
It is indicated that 12 million 603 thousand 895 quintals of the fertilizer that arrived at the port of Djibouti has been transported to Ethiopia and is being distributed to farmers’ unions.
The Corporation also indicated that the transportation of the remaining fertilizer unloaded at the Djibouti port into the country by trucks and railway wagons has been strengthened.
According to the Corporation, the procured soil fertilizer includes 2 million 788 thousand 940 quintals of NPS, 5 million 686 thousand 580 quintals of NPS boron, and 5 million 500 thousand quintals of urea.
