Secretary General of Tanzania’s CCM party vows collaboration with Ethiopia to address global challenges

Addis Ababa, January 31, 2025 (FMC) – Emmanuel Nchimbi, the Secretary General of Tanzania’s ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, underscored the critical need for Ethiopia and Tanzania to collaborate in tackling a range of global challenges, including climate change and security threats.

Speaking at the opening session of the second congress of Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party (PP) in Addis Ababa, Nchimbi stated, “In these times, our unity and cohesion are more vital than ever as the world faces numerous challenges in climate, conflict, energy, and security. Together, we can protect our people and the planet.”

He referenced the significant victory of the Prosperity Party in the July 2021 general election, which showcased the trust the Ethiopian people have placed in their leadership to establish an effective government.

Nchimbi reinforced Tanzania’s solidarity with the Prosperity Party, highlighting the enduring friendship and cooperative spirit between the citizens of Tanzania and Ethiopia. He also reiterated his government’s commitment to partnering with Ethiopia to confront global challenges and stimulate mutual economic development for both nations.
